The evening began with opening statements by Public Relations Representative Emily Webster, urging her fellow senators to take care of themselves, which seemed to be a theme throughout the night.
On the agenda was the RISE Committee which attended to present the new Common Curriculum which would be enacted as soon as the 2020-21 academic year.
Additionally students who were a part of the latest China study abroad program attended requesting an allocation of funds toward their trip to present at a conference taking place in April in Philadelphia. Junior Elizabeth Carrizel and junior Paola Solis presented their requestto help cover the travel costs for themselves and one other CSB student. The Senate approved for 60 percent of their requested amount. They were awarded a
total of $2,160.
The senate then moved on to discuss the elections that had previously been tabled at the last meeting. Senate members voted to appoint the next Club Allocations Chair with the following results: Club Auditor Libby Grygar won with a majority vote of 8, to her opponent Club Auditor Amira Elmi who garnered a respectable 7 votes.
The next meeting of the St. Ben’s Senate will be a joint senate meeting with the St. John’s Senate at 9:20 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5 in Quad 170, the Founder’s Room.
