If you drive down Fruit Farm Road out of Flynntown, in minutes you will have past Collegeville Orchards. Located close to St. John’s, it draws CSB/SJU students to visit every fall since its opening season.

Formerly known as Meyer’s Fruit Farm, Collegeville Orchards is currently owned by the Beumer family. The orchard opened the fall of 1999 and has since been open to the public from Labor Day weekend to the end of October annually.

Because of its close proximity to the schools, organizations on campus have held events at Collegeville Orchards. For example, Peer Resource Program (PRP) hosted its yearly “Applepalooza” event on Oct. 22.

According to owner Todd Beumer, the Orchard has since undergone plenty of renovations that have improved its appeal.

“When we bought the place is was a small store where you came and bought apples, maple syrup and some jams of jelly,” Beumer said. “There was no pumpkin patch or wagon rides. We really have prided ourselves on making it a
family friendly environment.”

In addition, Beumer said that the Collegville area itself is beautiful in fall.
“We are blessed by the location,” Beumer said. “The fall colors,
the hills and everything are a big draw.”
