St. Thomas raced out to a lead on Saturday and held on to win by six shots over SJU. UST received the MIAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III  Championship in the spring.

Sophomore Matt Lutz continued his strong play this fall by finishing tied for fourth at five over par. His average score improved by nearly five shots compared to his first season.

Senior Sam Olson finished in a tie for eighth seven over par.

Sophomore David Schneider shot a 71 in the final round to card the Johnnies only under par round of the tournament.

The team will play its final event of the fall season next weekend in Destin, Florida. If SJU impresses at the national event they have a chance to earn an at-large bid to the Division III championship.
