This past weekend, junior Molly Cashman, senior Stephanie Skoro and myself had the opportunity to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland.
This conference is an annual political conference where several conservative activists from all around the country attend and talk politics. This year we decided to go with the entire Minnesota College Republican organization which included conservative students from schools all over Minnesota.
At the conference, we normally attended at least three speakers a day. Speakers at CPAC were usually politicians or conservative activists, ranging from Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
Aside from being at the conference most of the day, we took our time in the area to also meet with a few Bennie/ Johnnie alumni. The conference was located at the National Harbor in Maryland which was only a quick 20- minute drive to downtown D.C. which allowed us to do so. After our meetings we typically got to tour the district as well.
As of now, we are hoping to get a group of Bennies and Johnnies to attend CPAC 2018 next year, so we strongly encourage students to reach out to any of us for questions regarding the conference.
