Dear Editor,
As you may or may not have noticed, this is my second letter to the editor this semester.
For those who do not know me, it probably seems like I am a pretty outspoken person who likes to share my opinions. For those who do know me, you probably know I am pretty much the opposite.
So why do I continue to write letters? Well, for many Wednesdays this semester, I have been interrupted during my favorite half-hour of the week (if you even have to ask, tune into ABC from 8-8:30 next week) by the Op. Ed. Editor, who also happens to be my lovely roommate, asking if I could please write a letter to the editor because they had space to fill. It’s not that I don’t enjoy writing or helping out a friend, I just don’t want to take all the fun away from other deserving students.
After being at CSB/SJU for two and half years, it is quite obvious that people here have opinions and most are not shy about expressing them – anyone who has ever eavesdropped on a conversation happening in front of them on the Link can attest to that.
So why is The Record still struggling for Letters to the Editor? I challenge anyone who has an opinion about anything, from ideas of how to attain world peace to your feelings about the new soft-serve ice cream flavor, to submit a letter next week, and let me finish my “Modern Family” episode in peace.
Sincerely,
Ellen Newkirk
CSB Junior
